Home made candles

wax shells from outdoor candles

We always burn candles at home - both inside and in lanterns on the balcony. Some of them burn down completely, but most leave wax shells. The ones we burned inside formed a whole pie of awesomeness. Throwing it away just didn't feel right, so I decided to make more candles out of it, and will probably repeat it after some time, with the remaining wax.

The candles we usually buy are either normal white ones, or the IKEA Tindra vanilla and white chocolate.

This is the mold we used for the candles. It's a silicone cookie form, but since I've used it only once, and it kinda failed, putting candles in it was a pretty good idea.

The ready batch.
We already lit one, will try to hold the horses from burning the next ones within 24 hours, hehe.

One of two tin Underberg boxes we have, previously used for storing tea.
It looks really awesome, though it's quite heavy.

We're definitely excited to use rest of the wax, experiment with colours, scents, some glitter and maybe add unicorns. We'll see how it goes.
