Cherries and warmth

Weather has been really nice recently!
We finally got some of my beloved black cherries from the local marketplace. They've been a true summer delight!

I also got a very warm, soft and fluffy birthday present - a nice big pillow and an amazing blanket from the Swedish design house 8mood.

Swiss diamond pan

We got ourselves a new pan from Swiss diamond. It has diamond coating for faster heating and longer durability. Easy to use and clean.

Food of the day: Moomin Yogi tea

Pretty curious match happened today.
If you can't read the label, it says:
"Fast running does not guarantee meeting the destination"

Moomin cup by Arabia Finland.

Food of the day: Blueberries

Soon all sorts of berries will be growing in the forests. These were fresh too, though bought from a stand for fruits.

Food of the day: Blueberry muffins

Straight out of the oven and of the camera. Made with love and handpicked Finnish blueberries from Kalle's mother.
[Thanks for the pack!]

Food of the day: May day's Tippaleipä

Very crunchy traditional Finnish dessert for May day. It's simply fried dough, so it tastes like bread, only sweeter. The only downside is that when you eat it, it falls apart.
For the Americans, you can compare it to Funnel cake.

Food of the day: Latvian green pancakes

You can find the recipe here, but it's only in Bulgarian and it's a bit different than how I made it. For those who have no idea what it says, and don't want to use translators:

The dough is a bit thicker than the usual for pancakes - 3 eggs, 200ml milk and 200g flour.
As for the filling - you can choose whatever meat you like, slice it into small pieces and fry it with mushrooms. Put on a leaf of salad, add mayonnaise and roll.

Food of the day: Banitsa

Many of you probably have no idea what Banitsa is, so there you go the Wikipedia article
It's one of my favourite things to eat from the Bulgarian cuisine. It's easy and fast to make, works great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in-between.
I have to admit that this is my first try to make it [outside Bulgaria], but luckily it was a success.

If any of you is interested I can write down how I made it.
